Who we are
The Nigerian Muslim Community (NMC) is bringing together families, professionals, students, and elders across Birmingham around a single shared ambition: to establish a thriving, self-sustaining Masjid, Madarasa and Community Centre — a beacon of worship, knowledge and service.
This is a faith-led project, built on sincerity and sustained by small, consistent contributions from people like you. Every brick, every class, every prayer offered here is an investment in this world and the next.

A thriving, self-sustaining Masjid, Madarasa and Community Centre in Birmingham — a beacon of worship, knowledge and service that unites the Nigerian Muslim community and the wider Ummah, and stands as a lasting Sadaqah Jariyah for generations to come.
To establish and run a Masjid, Madarasa and Community Centre that strengthens faith, educates young and old, supports families, and empowers our community and our neighbours — built through small, consistent contributions and guided by sincerity, unity, transparency and accountability.
How we behave
The non-negotiables. Every decision and every pound is measured against these.
We do this for the sake of Allah alone. Every effort is an act of worship, seeking His pleasure — not recognition or status. We measure success by barakah and benefit, not ego.
We are one body, despite our differences. The collective mission stands above personal, tribal or factional interests. We disagree with respect, and we decide together.
Nothing is hidden; everything is open. Every pound raised and spent is recorded and reported to members. Decisions, meetings and finances are shared openly and regularly.
We answer to Allah first, and to each other. Roles carry clear responsibilities, everyone is answerable for their part, and we honour our commitments and own our mistakes.
Turning the mission into measurable targets
A clean, accessible home for the five daily prayers, Jumuʿah, Taraweeh and the two Eids — a sanctuary in the heart of the city.
A weekend Madarasa for children (Qurʾān, Islamic studies, Arabic) plus classes and talks for adults and new Muslims.
Youth mentoring, family support and welfare, a warm welcome for new arrivals, and regular gatherings to mark Islamic occasions together.
Formally constituted under a founding resolution and written constitution, with elected leadership, dedicated accounts and transparent monthly reporting. Charity registration is in progress.
From interim rented space to permanent, owned premises — a self-sustaining institution that endures for generations, in shaa Allah.
Whoever builds a masjid for Allah, Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise.

Start small, think big
A phased roadmap. Consistency over speed — each step earned and reported openly.
Ratify the Vision, Mission & Values. Form the working committee and define roles. Set up communications, open dedicated accounts, prepare for charity registration, and grow the monthly pledge scheme.
Strengthen governance and transparent reporting. Grow monthly pledges, publish regular financial reports, and begin interim Jumuʿah, Madarasa and gatherings in a rented space.
Build a capital fund toward premises. Identify and acquire or lease a suitable building, pursuing grants and major-donor support to put down roots.
Develop the full Masjid, Madarasa and Community Centre. Expand programmes and place the institution on a permanent, self-sustaining footing, in shaa Allah.

Monthly donation support
Use Stripe’s secure portal to find and cancel a monthly donation. Stripe verifies the email address used when you donated by sending secure sign-in instructions.
If the portal does not show every monthly donation, or you no longer use the same email address, contact masjidproject@protonmail.com. We will verify the donation before making changes. Never send card details, bank details or a Stripe sign-in link or verification code by email.
Important: Cancellation is scheduled for the end of the current monthly billing period. No new renewal is created after the monthly donation ends. Cancellation does not automatically refund a completed card payment, and a Bacs Direct Debit already submitted or processing may still complete.
